Developed by German-born Joseph Pilates 90 years ago, this method uses all the abdominal muscles (not just the pretty "six-pack"), lower back, pelvic floor and hips as the body’s powerhouse to improve strength, flexibility, posture, and balance.
Joseph Pilates created a large and varied repertoire of movements designed to help a person become strong, supple and adaptable, improving posture and well being. This series of controlled movements engages patients’ body and mind and can be performed on specifically designed equipment or taught as a mat class.
For 90 years, the lessons of Joseph Pilates have proven to be sound and effective, used to help rehabilitate dancers and performing artists.
Optimal Rehab uses Balanced Body Equipment including the Allegro Reformer with trapeze tower, and the full Cadillac trapeze table to allow a wide range of exercises, applying assistance or resistance depending on the needs of our clients.
